John 8:3 And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst, 4They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act. 5Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou? 6This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not. 7 So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. 8And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground. 9And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. 10When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee? 11She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.
Have you ever been accused of something you did not do, and then you had to do everything within your power, use all your resources just to clear your name? Ever make an false accusation against another?
Here comes these church folks, the religious leaders, people from within the household of faith in the middle of Bible Study as Jesus sat teaching with accusations to tempt him, it wasn't the woman they was after, they were trying to trap Him with the law. Yes she was guilty as charged, but for this kind of crime/sin you don't commit it ALONE. Such a wonderful feeling to know that He knew their thoughts. The sister knew what the law demanded, but she had never met mercy and grace the way she was about to. They wanted to know was the Master going to uphold the Law or show her mercy. Something about the grace of God, no wonder they call it amazing. As Jesus looks out rather briefly at the leaders, the scribes and the Pharisees, He saw liars, cheaters, murders, adulterers, he saw porn, he saw riotousness, He saw money exchangers, whispers, He saw gossips and backbiters, men who were unthankful, unholy, ungodly. He saw men that had tipped Him in the offering, and tax evaders. He saw hardened hearts and the stiff necks, He saw men who did not provide for their children, He saw men who had been with that same woman and some who had thought about being with her, He saw old men molesting young boys and girls.... He saw hypocrisy. Jesus in His great grace told those men who had just interrupted His Bible Study, to the one who is without sin, you cast the first stone. Lowering his head again, I can imagine Him telling them to put down their stones, and one by one, they dropped their stones and began to walk away.
We must be Spiritual enough to restore such a one who has been overtaken in a snare, in a fall, in a deplorable state. But seeing that we ARE in the last days, what we want to do is rejoice at the sin, the fall of another sister/brother, when I always thought that we are all a part of the same body and that if I am hurting and wounded, YOU should feel it. We as a people who are yet carnal minded cannot see the hand of God, in and on a situation. We are commissioned to pray for leaders and those in position of authority, yet when they fall, when they fail we point fingers at them, when the body has failed to uphold them with prayer. We need to put down the stones.....
We must remember that no matter what you go through, before it began to roll out in "play" in your life, God knew before the foundations of the world were framed that you would arrive here with this! So if God knew then and He called you anyway, would it be safe to say, He anointed you to be here, and could it be that in the wake of the attack, it is because satan, challenged God because God had you "hedged in" and because God is all knowing, He raised the hedge and the enemy came in, but the question to ask is, did God allow this and why? God is always in control of everything. Could it be that the entire body of Christ failed when the hedge was lifted from your brother/your sister, because like the enemy, you too began to hiss at their fall. But I hear the writer say, don't rejoice at me when I fall, cause I shall rise again.
There is nothing new under the sun, no new tests, tricks or trials. Just a changing of the names and faces. What would you do, if it was you on trial, what if your faith was being tested, what if it was your pictures going around the world, what if you were set up? Put down those stones.... we have to come together in prayer and lift up our brother, Bishop Eddie Long and his family. It's not so much Bishop Long that the enemy want, they want to see how God will hold him up to the Law, but Jesus fulfilled the law on Calvary, he, just as we are under grace. God has the Last word on the matter, but we still need to pray. The Word clearly tells us that if the enemy could he would deceive the very elect, if and it did, the "head" is attacked and falls, what happens to the body? We all fall! Where the head go, the body is sure to follow. We that will again need mercy should show mercy. If there was a sin committed, we are not to judge, we are to pray.... People of God, social media, news media, put down the stones. Jesus is coming
